How would you tell someone you like them?

well, i really like this girl. I dont think she likes me (yet), but i want to somehow secretly get the point across that im the guy she SHOULD like. right now im "competing" with like two other guys. One is the type of guys thats a GREAT bball player but is really a jerk that all the girls fall for. the other is kind of a quiet, shrimpy/smaller guy thats not too smart, but looks good kind of guy. Im a guy with (im not exaggerating, all my friends say so) o.k. looks, great personality, good sports player (im the second best on the bball team, the jerk is "number 1"), so basically im a "renessaunce" man (lol) O.K. the girl likes the shrimpy guy and he likes her but he's 2 afraid to tell her. I no that she knows I like her, but i want her to like me back. I was thinking of writing a poem and putting it in her desk but i no that might backfire. Girls, any ideas how i should get her to like me? (nothing TO outrageous ha ha)
