Should the right to veto be removed from the 5 permanent UN Security Council members.?
Seeing it clearly is the biggest obstacle to an effective UN it definitely needs reform. I don't think it's realistic to totally abolish it and am not sure if that's best either. Not recognizing reality, the power of those states and making them too easy targets for those who don't like them will only cause the big countries to walk out in my view and then the UN is even less effective or credible. I'm thinking about a system where the veto is less absolute. Maybe two thirds of the general embly or four fifths should be able to override a Veto if it's only of one of the permanent members
