Why are christian conservatives opposed to stem cell research?

using stem cells from embryos? now you can say the whole taking a a fetus ability to multiply a bit more till it potential becomes a life is wrong but the fact is these eggs just get thrown away otherwise so whats wrong with instead of just throwing them in the trash actually trying to make scientific breakthroughs. now to that i know youll answer adult stem cells adult stem cells! yeah sure theyre good too. but if embryonic stem cells were no good why would so many scientists be delighted at the news obamas lifting the ban on research. dont you think scientists would be like oh yeah adult cells are better we'll just use those instead of wasting our time and grants on pointless research. or is it just you have that much of a contempt for science and that every breakthrough discovery science makes the more and more discredited your theory of a god becomes?
