Frequent spats with the boyfriend - what's going wrong?

Guys - we're in a seven month relationship. We do love each other very much. But every week we bicker around with each other and then have to make it up again. It is wearing us down. The problem is - when something irks me I have to complain about it immediately - I cannot hold it down. My bf gets totally upset about me complaining and then we end up bickering. Is there any advice you have on how to be more patient in such situations?
